DROP 1: FRUIT REALISM
“A line is a dot that went for a walk.” —Paul Klee. All of these, are, in a way, dots that went for walks. This first drop is all about fruit-flavored candies that go a step further to sculpturally embody something else. Pik!-coated gummies look just like the Orangina soda bottle and taste like the fizzy drink with a bit of carbonation on the tongue, glossy gumdrops encase a gelly Yakult yogurt drink, jelly beans that look like miniature real grapes and have a lovely natural taste (with complete flavor profiles on the back of the packaging ranging between sweetness, richness, and acidity), Kit Kat bars are painted blue and capped with white “snow” to mimic the iconic landscape of Mount Fuji. And lastly, just for fun, a treat that isn’t “candy” at all… Japanese somen noodles made from real fruits and vegetables to create a rainbow array on your dinner plate or in your soup bowl.
